SCOPE Grant Opportunity
San Francisco–Seoul Cultural & Opportunity Partnership Engagement

What This Is

To celebrate 50 years of friendship between San Francisco and Seoul, the San Francisco–Seoul Sister City Committee is offering $10,000 grants to nonprofits for projects that build meaningful connections between the two cities.

This could be a cultural exchange, an artistic collaboration, a business partnership, or an educational program—anything that strengthens the relationship between these communities in a creative, impactful way.

Who Can Apply

Nonprofits with a 501(c)(3) status (or international equivalent) that work in:

  • Arts and culture

  • Education

  • Innovation and technology

  • Creative industries

Your organization should have a track record or clear mission in one or more of these areas.

 

What They’re Looking For

Projects that:

  • Strengthen relationships between San Francisco and Seoul

  • Can be completed within 12 months of receiving funding

  • Are clear, realistic, and have lasting impact

  • Fit under at least one of these themes:
    Innovation, Arts, Education, or Commercial Collaboration

 

What to Submit

A 1-page proposal that includes the following:

  1. About Your Organization

    • Mission and focus

    • Key accomplishments

    • Contact person and email/phone
       

  2. Project Overview

    • What the project is

    • How it connects SF and Seoul

    • What you expect to achieve
       

  3. Budget Breakdown

    • A high-level summary of how you’ll use the $10,000
      (Group expenses in logical chunks: e.g. travel, supplies, marketing, fees)

       

  4. Timeline

    • What will happen when

    • Final completion date (must be within one year)

How Proposals Are Evaluated

A review team from the Sister City Committee will score applications based on:

  • How well the project fits the goals

  • Potential for long-term impact

  • Clear plan and realistic timeline

  • The organization’s ability to execute
